La Bergère

19th-century French School oil on canvas inspired and signed Daubigny, for Charles-François Daubigny (1817-1878). The artwork is smooth to the touch.

A close view inspired by the master Charles-François Daubigny, one of the primary bridges between the Romantic and Impressionist currents. The landscape is divided into two parts with its dark forest mass typical of the Barbizon school and its clear, wide-open meadows in contrast. The pictorial codes of the Barbizon school are also visible in the details and care given to the shepherdess and the cows, a vestige of a classical approach.
