A cool and rich palette where warm and iron gray tones intermingle, present the viewer with a paradoxical scene. Pontilino has managed to create interest, and confusion, between his subjects that are both full of life and selectively devoid of detail. Light, contrast and reflection all emerge directly from the still life scene to create a story tableau.
