Original oil painting from France: This unique still life is a double-sided painting on cardboard panel. This unsigned work is attributed to Jean Lasnier (1922-2006). It is part of the large collection coming from Lasnier's Parisian atelier.
Notably, Lasnier is generous in his use of paints and colors. This abundance of richness gives relief and a beautiful energy to this still life, emblazoned with cardinal red hues.
The other side of the painting reveals a project sketch, probably before carrying out a portrait.
In atelier pieces, we often see French artists experiment on both sides of the carton. The second side (the portrait) has a signature H. Gunot. It was perhaps done by a student of Lasnier, or artist visiting his atelier.
