Antique Oil Painting: French School of the XIXth century oil painting on cartonsigned in the lower left Edmond Quinton (1892 - 1969)
The surface of the work is smooth. This is an impressionist painting of a house, with beautiful light and a balanced palette. Quinton offers us a charming and faithful representation of old Norman houses.
About the artist: Edmond Quinton (1892 - 1969), was a Norman impressionist painter, who primarily painted the scenes of daily Normandy life around 1920-1930. He came from a line of naturalist painters and was trained by his painter father, Clément Quinton. He introduced his son to drawing, engraving and oil paintings.

Later, Edmond Quinton specialized in Impressionist landscapes, where he celebrated the French countryside from Vaison-la-Romaine ( Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur) to the rocky coasts of Brittany, passing through the diversity of Alsace and the Normandy region, always with a varied rich palette and in harmony with careful light work.
