Balbuzard Pêcheur

Original oil painting from France: A rare 19th-century original watercolor painting under glass featuring an osprey. A meticulous talent went into the details of the bird, common among artists who illustrated for natural history publications of the time.
This species of bird is particularly interesting because it crisscrosses France during the summer after wintering on the African coasts. Despite some missing pieces, the original gilded frame adds a touch of elegance to this very realistic figurative work.
  • Overall size: 11.8" x 9" / 30cm x 23.5cm.
