About the artist:

Raoul Deschamps, a French post-Impressionist painter, was born into an artistic family in Paris in 1903. He pursued his artistic education at the Beaux-Arts School in the capital city. Throughout his career, Deschamps developed a unique style that blended elements of cubism, surrealism, and expressionism, gaining recognition and achieving a certain level of success.

The Second World War marked a significant turning point in Deschamps' artistic journey. In response to the oppressive forces of fascism, his works took on darker themes. However, in the aftermath of the war, he transitioned to abstract art, incorporating vibrant colors and bold lines to create dynamic and emotionally charged compositions. Deschamps passed away in 1958 at the age of 58, leaving behind an eclectic artistic legacy that continues to be exhibited in France and internationally.
