Louis XVI pavilion

Fine art from Europe: French School Oil painting on mahogany panel signed Serany and dated '18 on the back. The writing on the back is a little bio of the places where the painting was painted, on the banks of the Oise in Meurville, not far from Paris to the North.

The surface of the panel is smooth. The landscape represents the Louis XVI pavilion which is part of the castle of Neuville, inhabited at the time by Count Émile Cornudet des Chomettes. Lights and shadows are nuanced and realistic and enhance the reflections in the water. An elegant impressionist work with its golden sculpted frame, also full of nuance in its brilliance.
