A small-scale Barbizon-inspired painting, on dark wood, with a varnish that reveals and hides the subject depending on the light. This painting shows a figure in the woods, with small details illuminated by thin white brushstrokes applied by the artist. The scene is deceptively textured and layered, visible upon closer inspection. 

There is no signature visible. The painting itself is in very good condition, and the vintage wood frame has moisture spots and missing paint from age.
