Ciel de Forêt

Original Oil painting from France: A forest landscape dated April 1905, created by Paul Sébilleau (1847-1907), from the Bordeaux school. The work is incredibly well balanced in its gradients of texture and the light that emanates from it. In the center of the canvas we can see a village in the distance, lost in a misty veil.
About the artist: Paul Sébilleau comes from a class of Bordeaux landscape painters who were influenced by Corot and Courbet. The Gironde, Antibes, Juan-les-Pins, and the Dordogne were his favorite subjects. Sébilleau exhibited in Parisian salons, Bordeaux and in the USA.
